Description

The Sewage Pump Station (SPS) represents the whole complex of the hydrotechnical equipment and constructions which is used for sewage, industrial and storm water transfer when their assignment gravity is impossible.

The work principle of such station is that on the pipeline drains get to a reception (lower) part where pump units are located. On pipelines of pump units backpressure valves are installed, they don't allow sewage to get back to the pipeline. In the lower part of KNS the basket holding large garbage that he hasn't got to the pump settles down. For cleaning of a basket and service of the pump inside it is possible to get via the hatch located in the top part of KNS. For extraction of the pump the chain and the directing pipe are provided and to go down, in a well of the station there are a ladder and the platform of service. Tracking of operation of pumps is conducted by means of sensors with introduction of their description.

SPS design

Most often sewer pump stations of mine type are under construction. The round form in the plan is caused by drop-shaft system. For the station of the big capacity equipped with pumps with the considerable height of absorption the scheme with the separate reception tank is expedient. At combination of the engine room with the reception tank the last is extended along the engine room. An underground part is made of reinforced concrete lined with plastic cover, concrete or fiber glass.

Components

The reception tank is equipped with a lattice or a fountain plate. The lattice is intended for detention of large garbageа.

The necessary volume of the reception tank is determined by the schedule of inflow and pumping of sewage.

Pumps select for the required pressure and the maximum giving of the pump station.

The pressure head pipeline is carried out, most often, in two lines from steel or plastic pipes.

Principle of work of SPS

There are two operating modes of SPS:

Automatic (main) mode
design loading – pumps, being activated alternately, pump out the coming drains.
Peak loading – comes in that case when the quantity of the coming drains exceeds productivity of one pump. When filling the station to a critical mark the second pump in addition turns on, doubling productivity of the sewer pump station.
The emergency – when filling the station to emergency level, the light and sound alarm is generated. Overflow can be caused by shutdown of pumps, increase in volume of the coming drains or other reasons.
Manual mode
In the manual mode on/off of each pump unit is made by means of the Start-up and Stop buttons, respectively for each pump unit. LED indicators of a board provide control of work and shutdown of pump units.
