The FC 1400 is a fetal monitoring device used to measure fetal heart rate (FHR), maternal uterine compression ratio (UA: uterine activity), and fetal movements (FM). The FC 1400 emits ultrasonic pulses to the woman's belly. From the signals returned after reflection from the fetal heart, the FC 1400 extracts doppler frequencies, which vary depending on the fetal movements, to output changes in the fetal heart rate and subsequent analysis of the signals, thereby revealing the heart rate and fetal movement. In addition, it determines the degree of compression of the uterus of the woman using a pressure sensor. The device displays the fetal heart rate, contractile activity of the mother’s uterus, fetal movement on the LCD screen in the form of digital values and stores this information in its memory.
