A non-contact type voltage detector is an auxiliary means of protection and is designed to alert operation, maintenance and repair personnel of approaching to a dangerous distance to conductive wires under a voltage of 6–35 kV, frequency of 50 Hz and operating both in normal mode as well as in the mode "ground" of overhead line operation in the network.
