Description

VR-14 and VR-252 gearboxes installed on Mi-17 and Ka-32 helicopters respectively are certified in CIS countries, China, India and Canada. The total number of mass-produced gearboxes is over 80 thousand. They are used in more than 80 countries of the world.

VR-2

The VR-2 main helicopter gearbox (1963) along with two GTD-350 engines is a component of the power plant of the Mi-2 multipurpose light helicopter. Until the end of the 90s VR-2(A/B) gearboxes were mass-produced by WSK PZL (Rzeszow, Poland).

VR-8

The VR-8 main helicopter gearbox (1964) along with two TV2-117 engines is a component of the power plant of the Mi-8 multipurpose medium-load helicopter. VR-8(A) gearboxes are mass-produced by Permskie motory.

VR-24

The VR-24 main helicopter gearbox (1972) along with two TV3-117 engines is a component of the power plant of Mi-24/Mi-35 transportation and attack helicopters. VR-24 gearboxes are mass-produced by Krasnyi Oktiabr (Saint-Petersburg).

VR-80

The VR-80 main helicopter gearbox and the PVR-800 intermediate gearbox (1975) along with two TV3-117 engines are a component of the power plant of Ka-50, Ka-50-2 and Ka-52 attack helicopters. Mass production of these gearboxes is pending at Krasnyi Oktiabr (Saint-Petersburg).

VR-252

The VR-252 main helicopter gearbox (1979) along with two TV3-117 engines is a component of the power plant of Ka-27/Ka-28, Ka-29, Ka-31 and Ka-32 medium-load helicopters. VR-253 gearboxes are mass-produced by Krasnyi Oktiabr (Saint-Petersburg). As a component Ka-32 helicopters they are certified in Russia, CIS countries, Canada and Switzerland.

SERVICE AND SUPPORT

The Klimov Company provides overhauling of VR-2, VR-8, VR-14, VR-24, VR-80, PVR-800 and VR-252 gearboxes. The company can also upgrade VR-8 gearboxes for use in a variety of power generators.
