Visibility of low-contrast objects with the help of the OESN is provided by cutting off the background in front of and behind them, which allows observing objects within the narrow depth of the viewed space. Such objects are not visible either at night in passive or active night vision devices, or even in the daytime in ordinary optical observation devices. Due to the work of the OECN in a pulsed mode, any long-lasting light interference (radiation from projectors, headlights, lighting rockets) is attenuated by a number of times equal to the duty cycle of the OESN.
