PURPOSE
This portable non-secret medium-rate device is designed for encryption with guaranteed cryptostrength of voice information (confidential or related to state security) transmitted in simplex mode at 1200 bit/s over digital and telephone channels of portable UHF radio stations and over physical communication lines.
Linear predictive vocoder that provides high speech quality is used in this device.
Built-in VF-signal conversion unit provides its use with existing portable UHF radio stations and the digi-tal interface provides its use with portable satellite-communication stations and with future digital HFW radio stations.
When using separate HF modem it provides the operation over HF communication channels.
