The device for ablation of tumors "METATOM-2"
The METATOM-2 complex is intended for local destruction of metastases, tumors and other biological tissues and allows for various types of electrosurgical interventions for percutaneous, laparoscopic and open operations on the liver, kidneys, thyroid, prostate, lungs, bones, etc., with the help of specially designed tools.

Shvabe Description
The complex is a set of functional blocks (control unit, generating unit and cooling unit), combined into a universal electrosurgical system. Functional blocks are placed on a mobile hardware rack and are most convenient to use.
Under the control of an ultrasound scanner or x-ray, thin (1.2-1.6 mm) needle electrodes are inserted into the affected tissue. With the passage of high-frequency current between the needle electrode and the neutral electrode glued to the body (when operating in a monopolar mode), or between several electrodes operating in a bipolar mode, the biological tissue near the working part of the needle electrode heats to temperatures of 50 - 100 ° C, causing cell death tumors. Electrodes have built-in thermal sensors, and the heating process can be displayed on a monitor, which is supplied as an option.
The complex can be used both in automatic and manual modes.
The automatic mode is used for ablation of cancer tumors of various localizations up to 6 cm in size using different types of needle electrodes. The memory of the control unit contains special programs that allow you to simultaneously heat up to 4 lesions according to the temperature profile set from the computer.
In the manual mode, the surgeon can adjust all possible parameters of the operation. This mode can be used for coagulation (for example, warts and papillomas) using special attachments; for resection of parenchymatous organs using special clips-scissors and scalpel electrodes; for ablation using rigid and flexible needle electrodes of all sizes. It is possible to use multiple tools at the same time.
