VC Monocube-PC is designed on basis of a microprocessor Elbrus-2S + and is intended for computer workstations equipment (AWP) operators, miscoservers’ organizations and information terminals, applications in industrial automation and with high demands on information security systems. Also VC Monocube-PC can be used as an introduction to "Elbrus" platform.
VS Monocube-PC is ergonomic, compact, has a low noise level. The motherboard equipped with the standard set of peripheral interfaces: Gigabit Ethernet, SATA 2.0, IDE, USB 2.0, RS-232. Due to the presence of independent video outputs (VGA and DVI), can be equipped with the operator workstation with two monitors. There is a slot PCI-Express x16 (used 8 lines), which allows to install expansion cards. IDE summed to a CompactFlash card interface connector (on the back side of the motherboard). On the motherboard 6 channels displayed (8-pin) Programmable I / O interface (GPIO), which can be used for receiving / generating the external control signals.
The base operating system for VC Monokub-PC is an OS "Elbrus". It is based on the Linux kernel and supports a variety of applications with open source software, including AbiWord processor, spreadsheet GNumeric, Firefox browser, email client. There are tools for the development of application software for self-testing equipment.
VC Monocube-PC allows you to run not only the operating system "Elbrus", but also other operating systems designed to run on 32-bit Intel x86 platforms, especially Windows XP and various versions of Linux / x86, including OS WSWS. This capability is provided by software and hardware system of binary translation. For storing binary translator files and service information is used CompactFlash card is installed on the backside of the motherboard.
