Basic information
Federal Centre of Neurosurgery has unique state-of-the-art equipment. For example, in autumn of 2013, exclusively in Russia, there was installed a 3D TRENION system. The first surgery with the use of a microscope with built-in 3D camera was performed on a patient with Arnold-Chiari malformation. In combination with a 3D Monitor installed in the OR, this device enables the surgeon not only to see but effectively share with the whole team brilliant three dimensional images.
Nowadays, the operating capacity of the Centre has reached 3500 high-technology surgeries a year, about 800 of which are performed by Chief physician himself. In total, there have been more than 14 000 high-tech surgeries performed in the Centre within 5 years. FCN has become one of the world leaders in the number of high-tech operations in neurosurgery.
