Russia entered the top-15 countries of the world ideally suitable for location of production. This is stated in the rating of Manufacturing Risk Index 2018 report, prepared by Cushman Wakefield.

On April 17-18 Singapore hosted the III Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue”. Previously the first two events were held in Moscow. United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) will take part in the Asia's Largest Aerospace and Defence event – international Singapore Air Show 2018, which runs from 6 to 11 February. The UACs product line will be represented by the military and civil aircraft models produced by the Corporation divisions.

On 9 February 2018, the Bank of Russia Board of Directors decided to cut the key rate by 25 bp to 7.50% per annum. Annual inflation remains sustainably low. Inflation expectations are diminishing progressively. Short-term pro-inflationary risks have abated. Therefore the balance of inflationary and economic risks has shifted slightly towards the risks to economic growth. The uncertainty over the situation in global financial markets has increased. This year annual inflation is much less likely to exceed 4%. In this environment the Bank of Russia will continue to reduce the key rate and may complete the transition from moderately tight to neutral monetary policy in 2018.

On the second day of the Singapore Airshow-2018 the Russia-Singapore Business Council organized negotiations between the leadership of the holding company Russian Helicopters (part of State Corporation Rostec), representing the Association of Aviation Manufacturers (Russia), with Mr. Sia Kheng Yok, the Executive Director of the Association of Aerospace Industries (Singapore), which consists of 34 companies.

The first day of Singapore Airshow 2018 one of the largest event of its kind in Asia, which, among others, was attended by more than 70 representatives of the Russian aerospace industry has passed. In the framework of the airshow Russia-Singapore Business Council together with the Centre for foreign promotion of high-tech products and presentation of investment projects in Singapore (Progression Pte. Ltd.) organized a business program for Russian companies.

On 5 February, 2018 in course of the business program of Russia-Singapore Business Council the negotiations were held between the management of Russian Helicopters holding companies (part of Rostec State Corporation) and Singapore government agency Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE)

Russia increased non-resource non-energy exports by 21% in 10 months of 2017. The highest growth rate amounted to 44% in the reporting period was demonstrated by supplies to the countries of Southeast Asia.

In December 2015 the experts of Russia-Singapore Business Council came up with the idea of the creation of electronic platform that would unite the main services necessary to conduct the international economic activity of industrial enterprises that, besides, would be universal. Ratification of the Agreement on the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be completed before the end of this year. Presidents of the member-countries of the Union once again confirmed their readiness to facilitate the early document execution by signing the joint statement prepared following the results of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on October 11, 2017.

Russia-Singapore Business Council invites organisations and companies to participate in the Business Forum under the auspices of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which will be held on December 16, 2017 in Cambodia.

On October 17, 2017 at the venue of the Technopark Skolkovo within the framework of the Open Innovations forum the 8th session of the Russia-Singapore High-Level Intergovernmental Commission was held. On the Russian side the Commission is headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, while on Singapore side - Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam. During the session in a narrow and extended format the issues of the character and prospects for the development of relations between two countries in the economy, politics, social and cultural spheres were discussed. The top management of the Russia-Singapore Business Council - Nikolay Volobuev and Sergey Pronin - took part in the extended format of the Commission.

On October 17, 2017 at the 8th session of the Russia-Singapore High-Level Intergovernmental Commission the parties supported the initiative to establish in Singapore a Center for Promotion of Russian high-tech products with the focus on the products and services of the State Corporation Rostec enterprises, as well as the development of the export-import B2B platform RSTrade, operated by the executive structure of the Russia-Singapore Business Council. The platform is adopted as an instrument for promoting civil products of Rostec enterprises to the markets of South and Southeast Asia. The parties also supported the III International Conference Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue in Singapore that is going to be organised by the Russia-Singapore Business Council in April 2018.

On October 15, 2017 an export-import B2B RSTrade (www.rstradehouse.com) was further developed: the new content was added and the working version in Chinese emerged. Prior to this the Platform had operated in three languages: Russian, English and Indonesian. Besides, the practicable integration of RSTrade with the State Information Industrial System have begun.
