At the Moscow Production Complex “Salute” of JSC “UEC”, work is underway on the first stage of the introduction of “digital doubles”. It is expected that the technology will allow certification and state testing of the designed gas turbine engine to be completed the first time, reduce the product development cycle time by 15-20%, increase the accuracy of numerical simulation and reduce the design costs of products developed by OKB JSC UEC.
At the moment, specialists have prepared and integrated with a digital platform methods used in the design bureau of mathematical modeling, each of which corresponds to certain stages of engine design. In the future, this technology is planned to be developed on a specific material: during certification tests and refinement of the units of a modernized engine for the Yak-130 aircraft.
“The introduction of digital doubles in various advanced industries is a worldwide trend. In order to remain competitive in the field of high industrial technologies, UEC should develop in this direction,” says Yuri Shmotin, Deputy General Director and General Designer of UEC JSC. - In this regard, the project, which is being implemented at the Salyut PC, is important for the corporation in whole. In case of successful application of the technology, it is planned to scale it, which will allow UEC enterprises to become one of the world leaders in the engine-building industry in the implementation of advanced design technologies. ”
Work in the direction of the use of "digital doubles" in the design of products at the production complex began at the end of 2019. Their goal is to create a single digital space that combines all the data on the requirements for the product and the methods of mathematical modeling, specialized software, and also provides the ability to manage settlement data and document flow for products.
According to experts, the use of "digital doubles" will automate and simplify a number of technological and business processes. So, the system automatically generates reports on the current compliance of the calculations for the product with the given requirements, thereby speeding up the process of developing and exchanging data inside the design bureau. Also, within the framework of this system, all participants in the product development will have access to the entire history of data, including the most recent updates, and access will depend on the specified user role. This will ensure transparency of ongoing work, strengthen control, guarantee the safety of data for future use.
A digital double is a learning system, consisting of a set of mathematical models of different levels of complexity, refined by the results of field experiments, and allowing you to get the first full-scale product sample that meets the requirements of the technical task, and also predicts its behavior throughout the entire life cycle.
The Salyut production complex of JSC UEC is engaged in the development, manufacture, servicing of aircraft engines and field supervision in operating organizations.
