On December 2, 2019, the business session of Moscow Government “Smart city» technologies»: the latest smart solutions for complex projects” was held in Singapore. Among key issues discussed during the session were the introduction of “smart” technologies in large metropolitan areas, its application in other areas, primarily in banking and financial technologies, as well as the most effective use of smart solutions for the development of complex infrastructure projects.
The business session was opened by the Minister of Moscow Government, Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow, Sergey Cheremin, by telling about economic potential of Moscow and key directions of the program “smart city”. Deputy Chairman – Executive Director of the Russia-Singapore Business Council Sergey Pronin and CEO of the RSBC office in Singapore Ms. Winnie Teo also were the key speakers, who reported on the activities of the Council. Sergey Pronin in his speech also focused on integrated smart solutions of enterprises of one of the key partners of RSBC – State Corporation “Rostec” and the possibilities of using these solutions for the development of innovation infrastructure in Russia and abroad. Winnie Teo, in its turn, paid special attention to the initiatives of RSBC in Singapore, including the project potential of the Center for foreign promotion of high-tech companies and presentation of investment projects and distributed R&D center created in Singapore at the initiative of the Council. CEO of the Russian-Asian Business Union Tatyana Sheremetyeva also elaborated on the prospects and key features of doing business in Singapore; Director of FHL Capital Pte Ltd Joseph Teo spoke about the distinctive features of the development of the financial sector in Singapore, modern banking technologies and the possibility of its application in innovative projects. Finally, General producer of «Big Asia» TV сhannel and website Sergey Savushkin in his speech touched upon such an important aspect of cooperation between the countries as information cooperation, telling about the opportunities of “Big Asia” TV channel and website in order to strengthen Russia-Singapore business and humanitarian relations.
The business session was attended by representatives of the Business Development Agency (Enterprise Singapore), the largest Singapore banks, industrial associations and investment companies, as well as leading universities of the country. At the end of the official part, business communication continued on the sidelines of the event.
Currently, “smart” technologies are among the most promising and dynamically developing sector of science and economy. This once again underlines the importance of such events, contributing to the development of fruitful and mutually beneficial international cooperation between Russia and Singapore, the EAEU and ASEAN.
